Stephen, who lives on Portland, Dorset, is a self-employed artist. He specialises in wheel thrown pottery using both stoneware and porcelain. His pieces are both practical and decorative. 
He experiments with slip techniques and movement in his glazes. The colours and effects that he creates are influenced by the surrounding sea and sky.
His studio overlooks Chesil Beach where he finds the seaglass to embellish his pieces.
He also teaches, many of his courses are held at Sculpture by the Lakes near Dorchester.
